Sam's OLD Cranberry dress...heart lace...

I ran through the ebay wishlist section and didn't find this on anyone wish list, but I found an auctions with a sam doll and her cranberry dress. But the dress is the OLD heart lace trim I believe. It is tagged 1986 according to the seller and it looks like the heart lace. Anyway, Can I post the auction number? I didn't know if I was allowed?

Kinda riskie, but someone could buy it, and then sell the doll? You might make a good portion of the funds back? Or, perhaps some people on the board might go in together if one wants the 86 doll and the other the 86 dress? Then, they could help each other out?
Well, I won't post the number out, unless I get told I can, but if anyone wants it and can't find it, PM me, I have it in my watch items, just to see what she goes for.

I have the heart lace dress, and I've always prefered it to the newer one.

Hate to break the bubble but the first version of Sam's Christmas dress was bright cherry red. Then came the cranberry one. I know because the very first AG outfit I bought in 1987 with my first Sam was her dress. And Brie, the Sam with the ribbon tie that dates her around 1989, came wearing a darker almost burgundy-colored Christmas dress. I adopted her from her original family.

Well, in this auction the dress looks like a more red, but I only know Sam's dress as the Cranberry one...I thought perhaps this one in the auction might be washed out or at a weird angle or something and that is why it appears more red. But perhaps it is one of the first dresses then it could in fact be more red than Cranberry. I don't think anyone is getting their bubble busted...I was merely trying to let others know I saw a dress that some one might like be interested in. I am by no means an expert, as I haven't been around AG that long. I recall a post where someone was talking about how long they had searched for the heart lace Sam dress, so...I thought this might help. If I am wrong about the dress then perhaps my eyes are going on me at the ripe old age of 28 and the seller is a liar! [img]eek.gif[/img]

I have the cherry red dress. It's ugly! And it didn't hold up well. I don't know what my sister did to it, but it looks kind of well worn! I like the cranberry colored one with the heart lace too. One day I hope I can get it for a decent price!

I finally got my heart lace dress. I was the one who recently posted about wanting it- and AGTeacher is also wanting one. I ordered one before Christmas and it got lost in the mail. Then I got another one. Then the seller of the one before Christmas thought she found it and it was being forwarded to me. Then it never made it to me. I just ended up with one at least! I don't know if it's more cranberry or more red- will post pictures in a day or two. It's tagged 1990. I like it a lot more than the current one. The lace is very pretty. I'm excited about it because I want it for Sam for Valentines day since I will display her in her sleigh at Christmastime and she'll be using her coat!

Edited to say that my dress must be cranberry colored- I compared it to the pictures of QNPoohbear's and it is definitely more cranberry than bright red! I've never seen such a bright red Christmas dress, but it's really different than mine.
